Displacement
Displacement is a kind of motivic variation.
Take a motif and shift it over so it begins on a different beat.
This changes which notes fall on accented vs. non-accented beats, thus changing the entire feel and sound of the rhythm.
belkin-2018 (p.6 par.1) considers it to be a distant form variation.
