Noise floor
In audio engineering, noise is any undesired audio in a signal – humming, buzzing, hissing.[citation needed] Every part of an analog signal chain is going to introduce some amount of noise.[citation needed]
The noise floor is the sum of all noise in the signal chain.[citation needed]12
The noise floor may increase if the gain is increased, or if boosts from EQ are applied, or if compression is applied.[citation needed]
