Mode

A mode is a kind of scale. All modes are scales, not all scales are modes? I’m not really sure about that actually. However, we tend to use the term mode when referring to a kind of a cycle of a scale.

99% of the time when someone refers to a mode, they are referring to one of the modes of the major scale.
