Lombard rhythm
A Lombard Rhythm, also known as a Scotch Snap or a Strathspey Rhythm, is a brief rhythmic pattern that consists of a 16th note followed by a dotted 8th note.

It is common in:
- Traditional Scottish song and dance
- Early English Baroque music
- Hiphop (see Adam Neely’s video)
- In hiphop, it’s really 2 dotted 16th notes
- Lallans (the Scottish lowlands dialect)
